It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! (in July) These adorable images from Stamp-a-vie came in just in time. I couldn’t wait to stamp and color them. Betsy Gibney started the Christmas workshops and has had a good response. We will be running them every month from now until November. It makes you want to sing carols and bake gingerbread. Well, maybe that’s rushing things a bit. But, this is a great time to start your cards, tags and gifts. Here are some ideas to get you started.

It’s the good old summertime. We’re thinking sand dunes, beaches, salty air, shells, sea breezes, and fun in the sun! When this shell die came in we thought it would make a great summertime card, minibook, or page embellishment. Here are two ideas. The card is on our free make it/ take it table at the store this week. The minibook will be a free project at the Scrappers Dream Vacation in CampHill at the end of the month. The die is for the Mark IV Accucut diecut machine. If you buy your paper from us you can use our machine and die free of charge.

We have had so many questions by e-mail on our Copic marker classes, I thought we could describe them here for all to see. If you still have questions, feel free to e-mail me with your specific thoughts.
Copic 101 is a basic class for starting out. We cover the four methods of coloring and shading with the Sketch markers. Everything is pre-stamped, so all you have to do is color! We also cover the types of ink, paper, color selection, and benefits to using the Copic Sketch markers. We complete 3 or 4 cards. And, we include color charts, and 3 markers in one color family. The cost is $40.
Copic 102 is more advanced. It includes more coloring techniques, refilling your markers, using the blender pen and blending solution, and air brushing. You will complete 2 or 3 cards, airbrush a flower, airbrush a gem, and stencil with the airbrush. A blender pen and small spray bottle of solution come with the class fee of $25.

Rain Dots are falling on my cards! Rain Dots by Cloud9 Design are the easiest embellishment you will ever use. Whether you add them for water accents like we did for the umbrella kids and mermaid Anya, or just use for artistic accents like we did on the shopping girl you’ll love them. No punching, hammering, or glueing, as these are gel stickers. They are self adhesive. Available in various shapes, sizes, and colors. But, best yet—you can achieve just the right shade by coloring with Copic markers. We have a good selection in our store as well as other sample projects using them. ” I’m Singin’ in the Rain”

I am so excited to have a blog where I can keep you up to date on trends in papercrafting more often than every three months! Thanks to my son, Troy and husband, Ken for helping me get started.
I’ve noticed that stitching on paper has become very popular. Now, I’m a retired home ec teacher, but I HATE to sew! The Scor-pal, Scor-bug embosser, and a fine tip pen or gel-pen can give “the look” of sewing without threading a bobbin. Just score the edges of the paper with the embosser and connect the dots with a pen for faux stitching. The Scor-pal and accessories should be in the store by the end of this month for you to purchase. We also plan to put it on our on-line store. Here are two projects using this technique:

8×8 scrapbook page
Tag - AccuCut die
Ribbon- May Arts
Stamps- Stampavie and Impression Obsession
Markers- Copic
Cardstock- Bazzill

note card
Designer paper- Daisy D’s
Cardstock- Bazzill
Scalloped rectangle- Spellbinder’s Nestabilities die
Markers- Copic
Stamp- Stampavie
