Pocketful of Fun

May 21st, 2012 crftyjh No comments

We had such a good time at  the scrapbook workshop featuring Quick Quotes layouts, that we decided to do it again on Saturday, June 23 at 10am.  This time we are using the “pocketful” kit to make a mini book.  This is Awesome!  Add photos from a birthday, seashore, or any special occasion.  Barb Barton made up this one for you to see,  All pieces including ink for distressing are included.  Plus we have snacks and really good conversation for only $25.  Register now on our website, or call 717-938-3425.  Join us!  You’ll be glad you did.

Graduation Day

I needed some cards for grads, but didn’t  have any appropriate stamps.  I borrowed this Stampin’ Up set from Barb Barton.  She is still a rep for them.  If you need anything just call or e-mail me.  Of course I used Copic markers to color.  I wanted to point out that the white parts (diploma)  were not just left blank, but slightly shaded with grays or pale blue.  This is a good technique to use on bridal gowns, angel wings, snowmen, or anything you want to appear white.  You can do this with pencils and water colors also.

Papers were leftovers from other projects.  It’s nice that our local high school is the Patriots and uses  red, white and blue.  That way the patriotic papers come in handy.  Mount the various stamped pieces on foam tape for a dimensional look.  Happy Graduation!

Ahoy There

My family is celebrating my dad’s 97th birthday and my parents 75th wedding Anniversary at the shore in a few weeks.  I made these nautical themed cards with this in mind.  All the stamps are cling stamps from Just Rite. Background papers are Fancy Pants, layers are Nesties and coloring was done with Copic markers. I think the layering is interesting as each piece was sponged with black or brown ink on the edges.  The lobster was cut out of paper, and everything is 3-D with foam tape.  The twine adds a really seaside look.

I’m giving my dad a gift card for the Red Lobster, so the lobster card is right in keeping with the theme.  Just Rite stamps are available at www.stampexpressstore.com.  The paper is not yet available.  The Nesties will be here soon.  These would also make great Father’s day cards or summer birthday remembrances.  Life’s a beach!

Aw Cute

These adorable animal images from Stampendous make really cute baby cards.  They are even good for a young child’s birthday card.  We colored ours with Copic markers, layered with K&Company designer papers and accented with Morex ribbon.  The lace doily is cut out with the Cricut.  All cardstock is Stamp Express quality cardstock.

For a more vintage baby card we used Magenta stamps and the same papers.  Words were rub-ons from our stash.  All products except the Magenta stamp are available at www.stampexpressstore.com.  Or you can purchase the finished cards at Brushstrokes and Blessings in the West Shore Farmers Market in Lemoyne, PA.
