We usually think of red and green for Christmas items. I thought I’d try some different colors to see how they work. The beige, cranberry, and forest green gives an oldtime antiquish look. Paper is BoBunny and Stamp Express. Stamp is from JustRite, and dies are Spellbinders Nestabilities. Of course, cranberry, forest, and beige are just various shades of red, green and white.
The warmest wishes card uses pink, lime and white. Again it is a matter of shades of the red and green. Stamp is JustRite, paper from BoBunny and Stamp Express. The embossed part uses C’ordinations with a Cuttlebug folder and then sanded. Ovals are Nesties and buttons from my stash.
Finally, the shaped card (using Nesties) is all aqua and green with white accents. The ornaments are JustRite cling stamps, paper is BoBunny and Stamp Express, ink from Memento by Tsukineko. All supplies are available at www.stampexpressstore.com. Order now and use your 10% off coupon for October.

How cute are these apple cards? Tuck one in your child’s lunch box. Or give a homebaked gift to the teacher with one of these notes enclosed. Send one to someone who is the apple of your eye. Or add one to a scrapbook page with a photo inside. Packs of 6 are now available at www.stampexpressstore.com. On the pie card I marbleized the apple with the cube from Stampendous. The teacher stamp is from JustRite. I’m not sure about the pie, but think it’s Impression Obsession. Circles and bite marks were cut with Nesties from Spellbinders. And coloring was done with Copic markers. Try making an apple a day and keep the blues away!

My sister and brother-in-law are celebrating their wedding anniversary next week. I couldn’t wait to try out the new Spellbinders fancy tags die, so I combined the two desires into one card! BoBunny double sided paper with butterflies seemed summery and romantic. I used it for a background and also cut out the butterfly from another piece. The stamp is from JustRite and fit into the blank part of the tag “just right”. Ribbon was from my stash. I hope they enjoy getting this card and our best wishes. I enjoyed making it for them. You can get the tag dies at our on-line store now and see how you like them.

After attending the Central Penn Crop and preparing for the Hagerstown SDV, I got into a scrapping mood. Then a couple of folks e-mailed me about the mini Magnolia stamps and I came up with this 8″x8″ page. The word stamp is from JustRite and the little girl is from Magnolia stamps. By the way, they are an angel company and you can use their stamps to make items to sell. I colored with Copic markers. I like the look of stitching on the tag, but it is faux! I ran the edges on the Scor-Pal to make holes with the Scor-Bug. Then I connected the dots with a pen to look like thread. May Arts ribbon tops off the tag. All paper is from Stamp Express quality cardstock. You can find all the products we used at our on-line store.

I dread making sympathy cards, but they are a necessary message to send. Our friend Susan West passed away this week, and we want to let the family know that we are thinking of them. I did have the dogwood flower stamped and colored with Copic markers and layered on diecut Nestabilities, so assembling the card was not too difficult. The stamp is from JustRite. Their flower stamps are perfect for any occasion. The embossed strip was done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder on Colorcore cardstock and then sanded to bring out the design. Background designer paper is from BoBunny, the word stamp from Hero Arts, and the decorative swirls from Spellbinders tag dies. Now I’m going to bake something to take along with the card and offer my condolences. A good idea would be to make up several of these cards ahead of time to have on hand, but I just can’t seem to do it. If you need the products, they are all available at our on-line store.

She sells seashells by the seashore. This is the theme for a beach motif we have planned for the Hagerstown SDV in August. The seashell stamp is from JustRite and colored with Copic markers. The ovals are cut out with Nestabilities from Spellbinders. The background paper is from BoBunny while the plain cardstocks are the Stamp Express quality cardstock. I made the flourishes by diecutting labels from Spellbinders and then cutting them in half. I glued one half to each side of the larger layered pieces. Come to the show and do this project as a FREE make it/ take/it. Learn how to color with Copics!

When you want something different, try a swing or telescoping card. Cut three identical shapes and place a different message on each one. Then join them together with brads or eyelets so that they can swing together on top of each other or open up to reveal all the messages at once. This one has a birthday theme. Stamps are from JustRite, Printworks, and the Stamp Barn. The cardstock is Stamp Express quality cardstock, the coloring was done with Copic markers, and the brads and ribbon are from my stash. A photo could be adhered to one of the circles and then the bottom layer glued to a scrapbook page for an added feature in a memory album. My circles were cut with Nestabilities. All materials are available at stampexpressstore.com.

I was so excited to use the NEW BoBunny designer paper with the patriotic theme. I made a birthday card for my brother-in-law with a masculine look. I used Navy quality cardstock for the card base. The layer is the designer paper from BoBunny. I cut the pennants myself and stamped with an alphabet set from Impression Obsession. ( make a pattern for the pennant so they all come out the same.) After stringing the penants across the top of the card, I added a layered sailboat image from JustRite. This was colored with Copic markers and cut out with Nestabilities. To finish it off I handcut photo corners layered and accented with a blue button. Inside I put a white piece of cardstock with Happy Birthday and some seagulls all in blue ink. I hope he enjoys it! You can get all the supplies to make your own from stampexpressstore.com and click on store.

When I saw the tutorial on SplitCoast Stampers this week it brought back many memories. They are featuring pleated paper. Several years ago we took Margaret to a trade show where I signed her up for a class called “Pretty Pleated Paper”. After the class she came to my door in tears and wanted to go home. It was so tedious that she never finished her samples. Plus we had to get someone else to teach the class. While the pleats do give a special look to scrapbook pages or cards, it can be unbearable if you have to score and fold using a stylus and ruler. With the Scor-pal now available, projects like these can be completed in minutes. This card uses our own quality cardstock, colorcore paper with embossed Swiss dots, and a dogwood stamp from JustRite. The pleats were made on the Scor-pal and secured with Scor-tape. All these products are available at our on-line store. To see the tutorial look at www.splitcoaststampers.com.
