Easy Altering technique

April 24th, 2013 crftyjh 1 comment

We were working on some mini album kits from Quick Quotes.  I noticed that some of the techniques used were things we used to do in altered books.  So, I picked this technique out and used it on cards.  It’s so easy!  Use double-sided cardstock or heavy paper.  Cut a piece 8&1/2″x 5&1/2″.Fold it in half.  The Scor-pal is handy for scoring and folding.  Then turn the upper righthand corner down until the edge is almost even with the fold.  I glued it down.  Then add an accessory like ribbon and flowers, a button, or some kind of medallion.  On the brown card I stamped “thinking of you”.  For the butterfly/blue card I glued the bottom and right edge so it formed a pocket.  Then I added a tag with a clear sticker and ribbon.  This one could be used in a scrapbook with journaling on the tag.  My double-sided paper is from BoBunny.  Check out our website store to order it here.

Holly Christmas Card

I’m making holiday greeting cards to get ready for the holiday card workshop I’ll be teaching at various Boscov stores in the area.  This layered holly card is quite elegant and easy to make for beginner paper crafters.  BoBunny double-sided decorator papers make it simple to match the colors on all the layers.  The solid holly stamp doesn’t need to be colored and the rhinestones add some pizazz.  It’s mostly a cut and glue project, which is nice if you’re creating a number of cards.  The solid cardstock is StampExpress quality cardstock.  All papers are available at our on-line store.

Quick and Easy

So many cards, so little time.  If you have needed to make a multitude of cards recently, you know there just isn’t time to spend an hour on each creation.  Here are two uncomplicated cards I made for Father’s Day and our son and daughter-in-law’s anniversary.  The Dad’s Day card is simply strips of designer paper, matted, and a greeting embellished with a matching button.  The anniversary card is a window cut out with Nesties, some stamping with a little coloring, tag with ribbon and some glitzy gems.  I hope you and they enjoy them.
